FAQ

Q: How do I know how much I am covered for?
You will need to contact your extended health carrier, however, due to confidentiality we are unable to obtain access to determine your coverage limits.
Q: What should I bring for direct billing?
Your Insurance card with policy number and member ID
A valid piece of government-issued photo ID
Primary card holder’s full name and date of birth if you are not the primary cardholder for the plan
Q: Will OHIP or WSIB cover my Physiotherapy?
Parliament Physio Clinic is NOT an OHIP registered clinic, and we also do NOT accept WSIB claims.

If you do qualify, you must seek out one of the few OHIP registered clinics in Ontario. Since current OHIP reimbursement levels for physiotherapy service is very low, the type of rehabilitation services offered by these clinics is accordingly restricted. Parliament Physio Clinic is NOT an OHIP registered clinic.

We also no longer accept WSIB insurance claims. Regrettably, changes to the WSIB claims process and reimbursement rates have made accepting WSIB insurance claims to be unprofitable for many clinics.

Q: What if I have to pay out-of-pocket for Chiropractic/Physiotherapy treatment?
Many patients do pay out-of-pocket for chiropractic therapy, which qualifies as a medical expense income tax credit on your tax return.
Our receipts also qualify as a tax deductible medical expense on your tax return.
Q: Can I use my medical insurance?
  • We deal with most major insurance companies and you would need to notify them prior to attending treatment in order for them to authorise your claim
  • You will need to supply us with this authorisation and number and we will send the bill to your insurance company directly
  • Dependent upon the insurance company and your individual policy, you may be liable to pay an excess or a proportion of the treatment fee if your insurance company does not meet this in full
Q: What sort of conditions do you treat?
We treat all conditions relating to soft tissue, bones and joints If you are unsure about whether we can treat your problem, please call us- we are here to help you
Q: How many treatments will I need?
This will depend upon your diagnosis. Your physiotherapist will discuss this with you at your initial assessment and give you a guide as to how many treatments would be beneficial to you- we do NOT see you more than is necessary
Q: Do I have to see my GP before I come for treatment?
Unless you are going through your private medical insurance, there is no need to see your GP before you come, just give us a call
Q: How long will I be in the clinic for each session?
  • Your initial treatment will range between 45 minutes and 1 hour
  • Follow up treatment sessions tend to be around 45 minutes, but if a longer time is required, there is no additional cost.
Q: Is there a waiting list for treatment?
No, we can often see patients within 24-48 hours of their enquiry.
Q: Do I need to bring anything with me for treatment?
If you have one, please bring a Doctor’s referral note, as well as any imaging reports (i.e X-ray, CT scan, MRI, or other)  and post-operative protocols if you’ve been given them following surgery.

You may bring with you shorts and a vest for treatment if you wish.
